When carrying out our air conditioning installations, our air conditioning engineers start each job by carrying out a free site survey. We measure and access the area where the AC unit will be installed in your Southport or Runcorn property to ensure that it’s safe for installation. This involves making various considerations for placement. For example, any new AC unit installations that are attached to a wall must be at least 7 feet from the floor, and all AC units must have 6-12 inches of unobstructed space around them in all directions to ensure sufficient airflow. Once we have identified the nature of the space, we can advise on what unit is best suited to the needs of your property.
After determining the best AC unit for the space, an engineer will fasten a mounting plate to the wall. This is a metal sheet that goes between the wall and the unit itself to prevent any damage and keep the unit secure. Next, we use a circular drill to create a hole in the wall to allow cables to pass through. Checks are done prior to drilling to avoid hitting any pipes and electrics in the wall.
After a quick check of the internal electrics of the AC unit, the cables are fed through the hole and out to the external unit. The unit is then fully fastened to the mounting plate, making sure that the outdoor condenser is correctly positioned. In the following step, a foundation concrete pad is installed and the outdoor heat exchanger is fixed to it using rubber pads or cushions. This keeps it in place and reduces machine vibrations. Lastly, we inspect the internal wiring before connecting the cable to the external machine.
